Céline Goedhart joined Conway & Partners in April 2017 and mainly focuses on (cross-border) trade issues and arbitration. Céline advises and litigates in the Netherlands as well as abroad. Within Conway & Partners’ arbitration practice, Céline acts as both a lawyer and a Secretary to the Arbitral Tribunal. This combination gives her a unique insight in all aspects of the (international) arbitral procedure.
Before Céline was registered as a lawyer, she obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Dutch law and a Bachelor’s degree in International & European law at the Radboud University Nijmegen (the Netherlands). Her interest in the Dutch law practice as well as the international law practice, made her decide to follow-up her Bachelor’s degrees with two corresponding Masters at the same university. Thus, Céline successfully completed a Master’s degree in Dutch corporate law and a Master’s degree in European law, with a special focus on European competition law. In light of her European law Master degree, Céline studied abroad for a semester at the Université René Descartes (Paris V) in Paris, France. In Paris, Céline completed all her subjects in French. Not only did she obtain further knowledge of the law during this time, she managed to master the French language as quickly as possible.
During her studies, Céline furthermore volunteered for the Legal Aid Centre in Venlo, the Netherlands. For two years, she provided legal advice in all fields of law. This experience taught Céline a lot about the interpersonal contact with the client and the required pragmatism in order to come up with the best solution for the client.
With her experience in and knowledge of the Dutch and international law practice, Céline is a perfect fit for Conway & Partners.
