Thabiso van den Bosch has been admitted to practice before the Dutch bar since 1998. His practice is concentrated on international arbitration and litigation. He has successfully represented parties before the Dutch courts in matters ranging from construction cases to actions involving intellectual property rights and commercial disputes regarding e-commerce and the internet. His experience in the field of international arbitration includes acting on multiple occasions on behalf of parties involved in cases administered under the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) and Netherlands Arbitration Institute (NAI) as well as others, both in the Netherlands and abroad.
In addition to his litigation/ADR work, Thabiso advises parties involved in the construction and engineering sector in regard to the tendering process for large industrial projects. More generally, Thabiso also provides advisory assistance to clients involved in cross-border contracting. Fluent in Dutch, Spanish, German and English, Thabiso regularly acts on behalf of clients in several languages. He is currently an editor of the Dutch mediation journal, Nederlands Tijdschrift voor Mediation en Conciliation and is a published author on the topic of international commercial law.
Illustrative Cases
Acting as counsel on behalf of a Dutch chemical producer in a dispute with a French firm over the take-over of an industrial facility. The arbitration was conducted under the NAI rules of arbitration and the seat of the arbitration was Rotterdam, The Netherlands.
Acting on behalf of a Dutch multinational company in a dispute with a German semi-conductor manufacturer arising out of claims for design defects in special order industrial machinery. The arbitration was conducted under the rules of the Netherlands Metal Industry Council.
Acting as counsel on behalf of a Dutch dredging company in several disputes regarding land reclamation projects in Asia and the Middle East.
