Lisa is a COMMERCIAL LAWYER, working with developing and established international businesses in addressing their ongoing legal needs. This includes a significant amount of work in drafting, negotiating, and reviewing commercial and projects agreements (joint venture, licensing, EPC(M), distribution, sales/agency, etc.). Lisa works across industries but handles a lot of work in the construction and engineering industry as well as the oil and gas industry. Moreover, Lisa is experienced in advising these same businesses on the merits of claims which may arise during the ongoing business relationships with clients, vendors, licensees, contractors, etc. and focuses on international commercial arbitration. Lisa has also represented investors against governments in investor-state arbitrations.
Lisa is a frequent speaker at conferences and has published several articles pertaining to commercial arbitrations and business transactions. She is an adjunct professor, teaching Negotiation Skills and other business courses to both undergraduate and graduate business students. Moreover, she is the co-author of the book entitled, "Third Party Funding in International Arbitration", published by Kluwer Law International.
Lisa is a member of both the New York and Florida bars. She is a native English speaker with fluency in Dutch and advanced Spanish skills.
