Mediating International Disputes
Some years ago I had the opportunity to attend an ICC sponsored conference on the mediation of cross-border disputes. During the conference the presenter played a video of a "mock" mediation of a trademark dispute between a Russian party and an American party that was submitted to a German mediator. The video, which lasts for about 40 minutes and is narrated by Michael Leathes of the International Mediation Institute, was useful for giving a basic understanding of the mediation process. Of course, no two cases are the same and mediations can vary from instance to instance, but as a practical example of how the process works the video is worth a look. You can find it online here.
